Vittorio Vagliani

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Vittorio is a software engineer with over 20 years of experience providing design and operational tools to the maritime industry. Vittorio brings a wealth of experience in the international maritime sector and first-class expertise in software development, having worked for the multinational defence technology company QinetiQ.

    Alasdair Douglas

    Aly Douglas

    SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

    With a naval architecture background, Aly brings his engineering knowledge to the software development process. His main area of expertise is developing software solutions for challenges in the design and operation of ships. In recent years, his focus has been on Safe Return to Port working on the development of Systema™ to help in design, and SRtP Onboard™ to aid the crew response.

      Phil York

      Phil York

      PROGRAMME AND IT MANAGER

      Phil is a qualified software engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the industry, with expertise in the design, development and deployment of bespoke applications such as graphical visualisation tools and onboard decision support systems for cruise ships and naval vessels. He also has expertise implementing and managing the company’s quality assurance procedures and IT systems.

        Tryphonas Petrou

        SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

        Tryphonas is a Marine Mechanical Engineer, with over 15 years’ experience in marine and offshore industries. Before working for Safety at Sea, he worked in yacht design for Lateral Naval Architects as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. There, he was involved in the whole design process including concept, basic and detailed engineering design development for luxury yachts and offshore villas.

          Chelsea Hannaway

          Chelsea Hannaway

          MANAGING SOFTWARE ENGINEER

          Chelsea Hannaway joined the company in May 2014 after finishing her studies in Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Glasgow. Part of the Software team, Chelsea has been involved in developing software products for both in-house and commercial applications. In particular, she is the lead developer of SRtP Onboard™, a digital Safe Return to Port solution for operators.

            Yasmine Hifi

            Yasmine Hifi

            MANAGING CONSULTANT

            Yasmine has been working in evacuation analysis, her main area of expertise, since 2006 and she is involved in the development of EVI™, Safety at Sea’s pedestrian dynamics tool. Yasmine has worked on all our SRtP Onboard™ installations, methodically reviewing shipyard Safe Return to Port documentation. She has a degree in Applied Mathematics and in Naval Architecture.

              Rory Lear

              MANAGING SOFTWARE ENGINEER

              Rory has experience across a broad range of technologies and industries. Including military, land, sea and air simulation products at BAE Systems, and photonics and instrumentation for the scientific industry. He works on all our core products including Systema™, SRtP Onboard™ and EVI™.
